Citadel on the Pond is an interactive project in which observers of an upper middle class property advertisement are presented with an unorthodox situation; real estate ads placed on Craigslist, a popular online classifieds index in the United States, visually contradict the accepted standards and conventional normalities.

Rather than clean wide-angle photographs, Citadel on the Pond showcases claustrophobic compositions, grotesque behaviors of the tenants, unrestricted consumption, and lifestyles in comfortable mediocrity. Despite this jarring juxtaposition against more traditional ads, potential buyers or real estate agents still contact me about further details. Either desperation or desire for growing wealth, it seems no opportunity goes unnoticed; is their motivation to get above the competition on the next great deal, or the morbid curiosity of seeing an environment that mirrors their own?
