Product Consumed exposes the modern cultural fascination with purchasing items online, and the constant drive to buy cheap even at the risk of being scammed. In this series, a varying range of mass produced pieces were altered through chemical applications over the course of several months to foster unique colorful patinas; generating a distinctive flair and seductive personality for each of them. After completion, they were listed on eBay, the world’s largest online auction site.

Now distressed and radically devolved from their original manufactured state, each of these pieces were for sale alongside their brand-new and untouched commercial counterparts. Regardless of its exaggerated appearance, buyers were still actively bidding on the Dell laptop until eBay felt they had to protect users from the unusual auctions by permanently banning the account.
